Fate of Camelot offers a mythical, medieval treat for King Arthur fans.

Taking place during the later days of Avalon and King Arthur's period of healing, the story begins with King Arthur's trip to Avalon. Accompanied by Queen Gwenhwyfar, the pair embark to Avalon. It is there that Arthur is healed and able to return home to Camelot. Gwenhwyfar, however, is captured by the mythical Cernunnos, god of the Wild Hunt. Cernunnos holds Gwenhwyfar there in the Land of Fairie. Fearing she will never return to Camelot or see Lancelot, the knight she loves, Gwenhwyfar can only watch as visions of Lancelot slowly haunt her in the land of Fairie. Meanwhile, back in Camelot, Lancelot plots to save her. His plans are thwarted by Morgan Le Fey. Surrounded by the land of Fairie, Camelot sometimes falls victim to the ever shifting land. LeFay has learned to use Faierie to her advantage, trying to stop Gwenhwyfar's return for her own profit.

Meanwhile, back in Camelot, Arthur's men, Galahad and Peredur continue the quest for the Holy Grail. The Grail is rumored to bring healing to all that encounter it. Various twists and turns prevent the men from finding their Grail.

As Arthur grows older, still longing for Gwenhwyfar's return, Gwenhwyfar remains in Fairie, where time passes slowly, pining for Lancelot. Fate of Camelot offers a fresh mix of history and fantasy. Having the Quest take place during King Arthur's time offers adventure to the story. Cynthia Breeding's knowledge of the subject, coupled with a vivid imnagination truly make this story a delight to read. The Quest occurs while Camelot tries to heal. Family bonds are tried, especially the bond between Lancelot and his son Galahad. Cynthia Breeding offers insight to the relationship, shedding light upon medieval traditions.

Mixing romance with history, the author has created a factual account that will satisfy the romance reader's appetite as well.
